Spring skiing with its ever changing conditions is here. Another mild morning - temps in the high 20s and then in the afternoon temps rose into mid 40s. We went to Breckenridge because this may be the last day before the Spring breakers come to town. We were wrong. The wait to ride the lifts at Peak 7 was at least 10-15 minutes. The only place there wasn't a wait was the T-Bar lift going up to the top of peak 8. Since this was going to be our last day at Breckenridge, we wanted to explore the newly opened peak 6. Most of this lift and the trails below are above the tree line. With sunny conditions, we went to the top and the views are spectacular. If you want, you can take a path to the very top and ski from there. It is a combination of two lifts to get to the top. The runs coming down are classified as Blue, but they are VERY steep. We had a wonderful run and skied back down to the lifts at the bottom of peak 7 where the wait was still 10-15 minutes. Since it was close to 1pm, we decided to call it quits. We ended the day at the Dam Brewery where we met our friends for refreshments. The weather forecast for tomorrow calls for 6-10 inches of new snow. The weather conditions change very quickly.
