Wednesday 02/05/14

The only thing I can say about the weather is that it is warmer in the mountains (-7 degrees) than in Denver where it was -17 degrees this morning. Overnight a light snow fell and the morning brought cloudy skies with a frozen fog over the mountains. It didn't look like a ski day. After breakfast, I decided to look at the Copper Mt. web cam and to my surprise, I saw beautiful BLUE skies and NO BODY walking around by the lifts. We decided to go to Copper Mt and it was true. We arrived around 11am and skied until 2pm. While it was COLD, I do not think the temp was below zero. The sun helped a lot. The ticket window and the staging location for ski lessons were completely empty. Coming down by the snow boarder's park, we saw many of them getting ready for a race. We continued pass them and made our way down the Windsong trail which we had completely to ourselves. By 2pm, the clouds moved back in and we returned home. Tonight in Denver, the temp may drop to -25 degrees. Hope I can find the same conditions again at Copper Mt.
